We know our environment affects us, but often we forget that the influence goes both ways, and we have the power to affect our environment. Inspired by the beloved HUB Yard swing (built by students in 2010), we asked ourselves: how hard would it be to add another one?

Over 73 meetings across the School of Art, the College of Built Environments, Campus Design & Planning, and UW Facilities, we discovered something unexpected: within these unseen systems, there is so much work that goes into stewarding the spaces we take for granted. This project proved that students want a swing on campus, and that students have the power to make that dream a reality. Read the story here.
